Train Fares

What is the age requirement for a child fare?

The child fare is applicable for children aged 6 to 15, effective 1 October 2019. Children below 6 years old travel for free.

Do you offer any discounts or special promotions?

Being a premium service, the KLIA Ekspres offers standard fares for single and return trips only. Nevertheless, do visit our website from time to time for exclusive offers.

Do you have a special fare for students?

No. Concession fares are offered for KLIA Transit service only.

Do you have a special fare for disabled persons?

No. Concession fares are offered for KLIA Transit service only.

What should I do if I wish to request for a special fare for the disabled on the KLIA Ekspres?

Please submit your request in writing to the CEO for further consideration.

Is there any special fare for senior citizens?

No. Concession fares are offered for KLIA Transit service only.

Do you offer any discount for group travel?

Ticketing

What are the operating hours of your KLIA Ekspres Ticket Counters?

Our Ticket Counter operating hours are:

KL Sentral – Departure Hall from 4:15am to 12:45am daily
KL Sentral – Arrival Hall from 5:15am to 1:45am daily

KLIA – Platform A & B (Level 1) from 4:15am to 1:15am daily
KLIA – International Arrival (Baggage Reclaim Hall Level 3) from 5:45am to 11:30pm daily
KLIA – International Arrival (Exit Corridor Level 3) from 6:15am to 10:30pm daily
KLIA – Domestic Arrival (Level 3) from 7:15am to 10:00pm daily
KLIA – Satellite (Centre Concourse) from 6:45am to 5:15pm daily

KLIA2 – Operating hours are 4:15am to 1:15am everyday

What is the validity period for Single and Return Trip tickets?

KLIA Ekspres ticket validity (applicable for tickets purchased online, at the counter or at self-service kiosks):

Where can I purchase the KLIA Ekspres ticket?

You can purchase the KLIA Ekspres ticket at the KLIA Ekspres Ticket Counter or self-service kiosks at KL Sentral Station, KLIA and KLIA2. You can also purchase online at www.KLIAekspres.com or via our KLIA Ekspres mobile app.

What about phone booking?

At the moment we do not have a phone booking system.

I wrongly entered the sector as KLIA to KL Sentral instead of choosing KL Sentral to KLIA2 when buying a KLIA Ekspres ticket online. How can I change the selection?

You can still use the e-ticket for KL Sentral to KLIA2 sector without modifying the sector selection. The KLIA Ekspres ticket sector (KL Sentral – KLIA or KLIA2 and vice versa) is interchangeable as the point-to-point fare is the same.

Can I purchase the KLIA Ekspres train ticket in advance prior to my travel date?

Yes, you can. The KLIA Ekspres Single and Return Trip tickets are valid for 1 month from the date of purchase when you buy at the ticket counter or self-service kiosk.

You can buy your tickets online through the KLIA Ekspres website or mobile app up to 6 months in advance. The tickets are valid for 1 month from your selected travel date.

Can I pay by credit or debit card?

We accept most debit and credit cards for payment at the ticket counter, through our website, mobile app and self-service kiosk. You can also make online payment using your current/savings account (FPX).

Do you offer smartcard payment using a Touch ’n Go card directly at the gate?

Yes. We accept Touch ’n Go cards at KLIA Ekspres stations. However, your card must have a minimum balance of RM20 in order for you to use it.

Do you offer smartcard payment using a credit card directly at the gate?

We now accept AMEX, JCB, Mastercard, Visa and UnionPay contactless cards at our KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit gates.

Do you accept foreign currency for ticket payment at the counter?

We accept cash payments in Ringgit Malaysia (MYR) only.

Do I get a receipt for my ticket purchase?
  • If you buy your ticket at the counter, we can issue a receipt upon request. Please inform the Ticketing Officer at the time of purchase.
  • If you buy your ticket online, we will issue an e-ticket in PDF format which will be sent to your email address. Please print your e-ticket accordingly. No other printed receipts will be issued.
Do I get a receipt for ticket purchased from the ticket vending machine?

You need to press the “RECEIPT” button, if you want a receipt to be printed for the ticket purchase. Otherwise, the ticket vending machine would only dispense your ticket and cash balance.

I am trying to purchase my ticket online. After entering all the necessary credit card details on the payment page, I clicked on the “Pay” button but I did not get any confirmation to indicate that the transaction is successful. There was no further display of my travel itinerary on the screen, nor did I get any email to confirm my purchase. What should I do?

You can select the option “View Transaction History” available in the Login box on the right hand side of the screen (you must log in first) to view your recent transactions/ booking history. From here, you can select the relevant purchase transaction and proceed to print out a copy of the travel itinerary. Only successful purchase transactions will be displayed on this list.

I did not receive my travel itinerary after making the payment online and I could not find the purchase transaction record on the “View Transaction History” page. However, upon checking with my bank, I was told that the payment has been charged to my credit card. What should I do?

What happens if my ticket is lost or stolen? Can I get a refund?

It is your responsibility to look after your ticket. We are not obliged to replace a lost or mislaid ticket (or a portion of a ticket) or offer a refund. You need to purchase a new ticket before boarding the train.

I purchased my KLIA Ekspres ticket online. What happens if the e-ticket is lost or I am not able to print it out but I can provide the ticket number for your reference?

We can help retrieve your e-ticket from the system and print out a hard copy for you to allow you to go through our boarding gate. An administrative fee of RM5 is applicable and to be paid at our Ticketing Counter.

I purchased my KLIA Ekspres ticket online via my mobile phone. Can I scan the barcode directly from my mobile phone at your gate?

Yes, you can scan the barcode directly at the barcode reader on the gates to pass through. Please keep the phone brightness at its maximum level while trying to scan the barcode tickets.

I bought a KLIA Ekspres Return Trip ticket for the KL Sentral-KLIA sector and used it to go to the airport. Can I use the remaining portion of the ticket for the same sector i.e. KL Sentral-KLIA at a later date?

Yes, you can, as long as the ticket is still valid.

I have already purchased a KLIA Ekspres Single Trip ticket from KLIA to KL Sentral, but now I need to attend a meeting in Putrajaya. Can I use the same ticket to catch a KLIA Transit train to Putrajaya?

KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit tickets are not interchangeable, as the train services use different ticketing systems. You must purchase a new ticket for your journey from KLIA to Putrajaya at the KLIA Transit ticket counter or the Ticket Vending Machine.

Can I get a refund for a damaged smart card?

Please take good care of your ticket. Damaged smart cards will neither be honoured nor refunded. Do not bend or damage the card as this will render it faulty and you will not be able to pass through our gate. If the smart card is damaged, you will be required to purchase a new ticket.

I have an unused ticket which has expired. Can I request for a ticket replacement?

Unused tickets which have expired will neither be honoured nor refunded. Please purchase a new ticket for your travel.

If I decide at the last minute not to travel on the train after having passed through the gate, can I cancel my train boarding? Can I request for a refund or get my ticket revalidated?

You will be allowed to leave the train platform/paid area but you will not be entitled to a refund or fresh ticket/ticket revalidation.

Train Schedule

What time is the first train from KL Sentral? What time is the first train from KLIA? What about the last train?

Due to the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit are operating as a combined service daily until further notice.

First train: 6:00AM

Last train: 11:10PM

Check the train schedule on the website for regular updates.

What is the frequency of the trains?
  • Peak hours (Monday-Friday 6am-9am, 4pm-10pm): Every 15 minutes
  • Off-peak hours (Monday-Friday 9am-4pm, 10pm-12am; Saturday & Sunday ): Every 20 minutes
  • After midnight (Monday-Sunday): Every 30 minutes
How long does it take to reach the airport?

KLIA Ekspres provides a non-stop journey all the way between KL Sentral Station and KLIA. The journey time is only 28 minutes.

Do your trains run during festive seasons or on public holidays?

Our train service operates daily including weekends and public holidays.

Train Fares

Do you have a special fare for senior citizens?

The senior citizen concession fare (standard fare less 30%) applies to Malaysian senior citizens aged 55 and above who hold a MyKad or Malaysian passport. Standard fare applies to senior citizens of other nationalities. The discounted ticket has a validity of 2 hours. This is to ensure that the discounted tickets are not misused under any circumstances.

Do you have a special fare for students?

Yes, KADS1M holders get 30% off at the KLIA Transit ticket counter by showing their identity proof. The ticket is valid for 2 minutes only.

 

Do you have a special fare for disabled persons?

A disabled person holding an OKU card issued by the Department of Social Welfare Malaysia can ride the KLIA Transit at a reduced fare (standard fare less 30%). Please ask for the concession fare at the KLIA Transit Ticket Counter.

Ticketing

What are the operating hours of your KLIA Transit Ticket Counters at KL Sentral and KLIA?

The Ticket Counter at KL Sentral opens from 4:05am to 12:05am daily.
The Ticket Counter at KLIA (Platform B Level 1) opens from 4:15am to 1:15am daily.

The Ticket Counter at KLIA2 operates from 4:15am to 1:15am daily.

What is the ticket validity for a KLIA Transit Standard Single Trip (one-way) ticket?

A KLIA Transit Standard Single Trip ticket is valid for 1 month from the purchase date.

What is the validity of a senior citizen ticket?

I have purchased a Single Trip (one-way) ticket for the KL Sentral to KLIA sector. Can I use the ticket to board the train at Bandar Tasik Selatan instead?

You cannot board the KLIA Transit train at a station other than the one encoded in your ticket. If the travelling sector is encoded as KL Sentral to KLIA, you can only use the ticket to board at KL Sentral and exit at KLIA.

I bought a Single Trip (one-way) ticket for the Bandar Tasik Selatan to KLIA sector. Can I use the ticket from KLIA to Bandar Tasik Selatan?

The KLIA Transit standard Single Trip (one-way) ticket is not reversible. You can only use the ticket for the travelling sector as encoded in the ticket and not in the opposite direction.

I intend to take the KLIA Transit from KL Sentral to KLIA after work tomorrow. Can I purchase this Single Trip (one-way) ticket in advance from Bandar Tasik Selatan tonight as I live in the area?

You can only purchase your KLIA Transit ticket from the boarding station.

I have purchased a KLIA Transit Single Trip (one-way) ticket. However, I have not used the ticket as my flight has been cancelled. Can I get a refund?

There is no refund for any unused ticket resulting from a passenger’s change of mind, personal reasons, airline matters or any other reasons which are not within our liability. Under our Conditions of Carriage, we can only offer compensation for the value of the ticket purchased, if there is a delay of 60 minutes or more in the train service, for any unused tickets. The unused ticket can be used for a future trip, as long as the ticket has not expired.

I bought a KL Transit ticket from the airport to Bandar Tasik Selatan, but by mistake I took the KLIA Ekspres train from the airport to KL Sentral. Can I get a refund for the KLIA Transit ticket which I purchased in advance?

There is no refund for boarding the wrong train. You are required to purchase a new ticket i.e. KLIA Ekspres Single Trip (one-way) ticket for your journey on KLIA Ekspres train from the airport to KL Sentral Station.

To avoid such incidents in the future, please ensure that you have bought the correct ticket and boarded the correct train service. Please do no hesitate to ask for assistance from our Ticketing Officers should you require further clarification.

Does the KLIA Transit accept Touch n’ Go cards?

Yes. We accept Touch ‘n Go cards at all KLIA Transit stations. However, your card must have a minimum balance of RM20 in order for you to use it.

Putrajaya & Cyberjaya

Where is the location of this KLIA Transit station?

The Putrajaya & Cyberjaya Station is located at Putrajaya Sentral in Presint 7, Putrajaya. The terminal is managed by Perbadanan Putrajaya.

Is there any feeder bus service to and from the station?

Public transportation is available at the station. You can take the Nadi Putra buses, RapidKL bus service or the taxi service.

How do I go to Cyberjaya?

You can take the RapidKL bus service or the taxi service to go to Cyberjaya.

Is there any parking facility at the Putrajaya station? What are the parking charges?

Putrajaya Sentral provides indoor and outdoor parking facility for commuters. This park-and-ride facility is managed by a subsidiary of Perbadanan Putrajaya. The current charge for covered car park is RM2 per entry from 6am to 12 midnight. Vehicles that exceed this time period will be charged an additional fee. Motorists who park their cars here can enjoy free bus rides on the Nadi Putra buses.

Parking charges are subject to change. Please check with the parking management company for further details and terms and conditions.

Is it safe to park my car at the station?

The security within and around Putrajaya Sentral is under the jurisdiction of Perbadanan Putrajaya. Car owners park their vehicles at their own risk. ERL is not responsible for any damage to the parked vehicles or theft.

What are the operating hours of your Ticket Counter at the Putrajaya & Cyberjaya Station?

The Ticket Counter opens from 4:15am to 1:20am daily.

Bandar Tasik Selatan

How do I get to the Bandar Tasik Selatan Station?

The KLIA Transit Station at Bandar Tasik Selatan is accessible via RapidKL Ampang Line and KTM train services. You can also take the taxi or drive to the station.

What are the operating hours of your Ticket Counter at Bandar Tasik Selatan Station?

The Ticket Counter opens from 4:15am to 1:30am daily.

Are there any parking facilities at the Bandar Tasik Selatan Station? How much does it cost?

Motorists can park their vehicles at the parking facility near the RapidKL Ampang Line station. They can also park inside the Bandar Tasik Selatan-Integrated Transport Terminal/Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS). Kindly contact their Customer Service at 603– 9057 5802 or visit their website at www.tbsbts.com.my.

Is there any feeder bus or taxi service at the Bandar Tasik Selatan Station?

You can take the taxi service from the Bandar Tasik Selatan-Integrated Transport Terminal/Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) to any part of Kuala Lumpur.

Are there any left luggage facilities at Bandar Tasik Selatan Station?

Left luggage facilities are only available at the Bandar Tasik Selatan-Integrated Transport Terminal/Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) at the Main Lobby, Level 3.

Salak Tinggi

Is there any public transport available at the Salak Tinggi Station?

At present, there is no public transport provided at this station.

What are the operating hours of your Ticket Counter at Salak Tinggi?

The Ticket Counter opens from 4:30am to 1:15am daily.

Flight Check-In at KL Sentral

Check In

Do you allow passengers to check in for their flights at KL Sentral?

Flight Check-in @ KL Sentral is currently suspended due to current Movement Control Order

At the moment, flight check-in service and baggage drop at KL Sentral is available for passengers flying with Malaysia Airlines, Cathay Dragon and Malindo Air. For other airlines, you can carry your luggage on board the train and check in for your flight upon arrival at the airport.

When do I check in for my flight?

Flight Check-in @ KL Sentral is currently suspended due to current Movement Control Order

For international flights, you are required to check in at least 2 hours before flight departure. For domestic flights without checked luggage, you are required to check in at least 1½ hours before flight departure.

Please contact your airline for the latest update on check-in policy and procedure.

How do I check in for my flight?

Please proceed to the KLIA Ekspres Departure Hall at the KL City Air Terminal (located at Level 1, KL Sentral Station). You are required to purchase your train ticket prior to your flight check-in. Please note that the Touch ‘n Go card will no longer be accepted for entrance into the flight check-in area.

Upon check-in, your flight boarding pass will be issued to you and your luggage will be tagged to your flight destination. For international flights, the immigration process will be conducted at the airport. After check-in, please proceed to the train platform to catch your train to the airport. You only need to carry your hand luggage as your tagged luggage will be transferred directly to the airport.

How early can I check in for my flight?

You can check in early, as long as you check in on the same day as your flight departure date. Please contact your airline for more information.

Is there any flight check-in facility at your KLIA Transit station?

Flight check-in facility is only available at KL Sentral. There are no check-in facilities at any of the KLIA Transit intermediate stations. KLIA Transit passengers at the intermediate stations are required to check in upon arrival at the airport.

Others

Special Handling

Do you provide special handling for airline passengers?

Airline passengers requiring special handling should refer to their respective airlines or ground handling agents for assistance.

Wheelchair Handling

Do you provide wheelchairs for disabled passengers?

No, we don’t. A disabled passenger must make arrangements for his or her own wheelchair and an escort in attendance, if necessary.

Baggage

How many carry-on bags per passenger are allowed on the train?

Carry-on bags into the train cabin should not exceed 3 pieces per passenger and each bag should not exceed 30 kg.

Since I am not able to check in my surf board at KL Sentral, can I carry it onto the train for check-in at the airport?

Bulky items that might pose a safety hazard during an emergency evacuation will not be allowed on board the trains. Surf boards and bicycles (except foldable bicycles which have been packed securely) are strictly prohibited.

What should I do if my baggage which I have checked in at KL Sentral is lost?

All enquiries and claims in respect of checked-in baggage should be forwarded directly to your airline or their ground-handling agent. Please notify your airline immediately for their further action.

Porter Service/Trolley

Do you provide any assistance to passengers with heavy luggage?

We do provide free porter service for passengers who require assistance with their luggage.

Do you provide porter service for KLIA Transit passengers?

Porter service is only available for passengers taking the KLIA Ekspres.

Do you provide trolleys at the stations? How much do they cost?

There are ample trolleys provided at the KLIA Ekspres stations at KL Sentral and KLIA. However, due to safety reasons trolleys are not available at the KLIA Transit intermediate stations. For KLIA Transit passengers, trolleys are only made available at KL Sentral (upon request) and KLIA.

Can I push the trolley onto the train?

For safety reasons, trolleys are not allowed on the train. Please get a porter to assist you with the luggage transfer.

Food and Drink On Board

Do you serve food and drink on board the trains?

We do not provide any refreshments on board the trains. Passengers are not allowed to consume food and drink on board the trains.

Smoking

Can I smoke on board the train?

Smoking or vaping is not allowed onboard the trains. Please adhere to the “No Smoking” rule onboard and at the KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit stations including the KL City Air Terminal (KL CAT).

Pets/Animals On Board Train

Am I allowed to bring along my pet on board the train?

Pets/animals are not allowed on board the trains.
