At the Airport
If you have a few hours of waiting time during your transit at KLIA or KLIA2, don’t just sit around and miss out on a taste of local culture. Below are the directions for you to get to KL Sentral from KLIA/KLIA2 for your tour.
At the airport (at least 8 hours between flights)
- Go to the Main Terminal Building.
- Clear Immigration (have your travel documents ready, such as passport, visa, Discover Kuala Lumpur ticket & voucher).
- Claim your baggage if applicable and clear Customs. Luggage storage facility is available at the airport and KL Sentral Station.
- Proceed to KLIA Ekspres Station (Level 1 at KLIA, Level 2 at Gateway@KLIA2)
Airport transfer on KLIA Ekspres
- Journey time: 28 minutes from KLIA
(33 minutes from KLIA2) - Frequency:
Every 15 minutes during peak hours (6am-9am, 4pm-10pm)
Every 20 minutes during off-peak hours (9am-4pm, 10pm- midnight)
At KL Sentral Station
- Head to the nearest KL Hop-On Hop-Off pick-up point on Level 2 (station main entrance, opposite KL Hilton).
- Present your KL Hop-On Hop-Off voucher to the ground crew on duty.
Onboard KL Hop-On Hop-Off
- 2 hours on the Garden Route (without stop, subject to the traffic conditions).
- The City Route (with/without stops) is recommended for those with 10 hours or more of transit time.
Return to KL Sentral and to the airport
- Grab a quick bite or do window shopping before proceeding to the Departure Hall on Level 1 to board the KLIA Ekspres train back to the airport.
- For an overall stress-free experience, allow:
- 90 minutes for your journey from KL Sentral and immigration inspection.
- 60 minutes for boarding.
