Kuala Lumpur, 27th August 2016 – One KLIA Transit passenger had the most memorable birthday when she was declared as Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd’s (ERL) 75 millionth passenger yesterday. Nur Emina bt Abu Bakar, 30, who was travelling to KL Sentral from Putrajaya & Cyberjaya Station was shocked and happy when she was announced as the 75 millionth passenger.
A regular KLIA Transit commuter for the past four months, Nur Emina, who works as an IT consultant at Jabatan Akauntan Negara, uses the KLIA Transit because of its punctuality, convenience and speed.
“When they made an announcement in the train that one of the passengers will be the 75 millionth passenger, I didn’t expect it would be me. I am pleasantly surprised and happy because coincidentally it is my birthday,” said Nur Emina.
As the 75 millionth passenger, Nur Emina walked away with 4 KLIA Ekspres tickets, 2 dining vouchers from Hotel Majestic Kuala Lumpur, a RM200 H&M gift card and an exclusive KLIA Ekspres goodie bag with a total worth of RM750 and a YES Altitude 4G LTE smartphone worth RM399.
Noormah Mohd Noor, Chief Executive Officer of ERL and Thomas Baake, Chief Executive Officer of ERL Maintenance Support (E-MAS) handed the prizes to Nur Emina in a simple celebration held at the KLIA Transit concourse in KL Sentral.
“In 2014, we welcomed our 50 millionth passenger after 12 years in operation. Our journey since then had certainly been eventful and memorable. We are proud to be adding another milestone in ERL’s history today by welcoming our 75 millionth passenger.
The time it has taken to pass our passenger milestones seems to be getting shorter and shorter, which is definitely a good reflection on the increasing number of passengers on our trains. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our passengers for their continuous support.”
“We expect to carry 9 million passengers this year. Our passengers can expect an even better service from us when the new trains go into service early next year,” Noormah said.
In conjunction with its 75 Millionth Passenger celebration, ERL is also running a Caption This! contest on its Facebook page at http://bit.ly/2ccJbl5. The best 75 captions will each win a RM75 H&M gift card and a KLIA Ekspres ticket. Contest ends on 31st August 2016.
