ERL and E-MAS Transforming Classroom In Support Of Frog Classroom Makeover Programme
Sepang, 13th February 2018 – Express Rail Link Sdn Bhd (ERL) together with its subsidiary, ERL Maintenance Support Sdn Bhd (E-MAS) continue to support YTL Foundation to take on its third Frog Classroom Makeover Project. This time, SMK Dengkil, Sepang was selected to receive the makeover transformation.
The unveiling of the Frog Classroom was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Education I, YB Dato’ P. Kamalanathan. Also present at the unveiling ceremony were Chief Executive Officer of ERL, Noormah Mohd Noor and Programme Director of YTLFoundation, YBhg. Datin Kathleen Chew.
YB Dato’ P.Kamalanathan commended YTL Foundation’s collaboration with FrogAsia in its FrogClassroom Programme initiative which aims to transform traditional classrooms into 21st-century learning spaces. These classrooms are designed to promote technology-enabled and student-focused learning environments in line with the current best practices in education.
He also applauded ERL and E-MAS for continuing their Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) effort through this initiative and hoped that more from the corporate sector will come forward and support the Frog Classroom Programme.

Datin Kathleen commended ERL and E-MAS and the volunteers from both organisations for their passion and enthusiasm in undertaking their third classroom makeover. She said: “It is always such an encouragement when corporates collaborate on a cause they believe in as doing things together is always more effective than doing it alone. Together we can be more effective in improving education in thecountry.”
A Frog Classroom provides a conducive, fun and interactive learning environment for both the students and teachers to achieve more with collaborative learning. The classroom can also help stimulate creativity and positivity which the future generation will need if we are to stay competitive in a global marketplace.
The chosen school, SMK Dengkil, has been recognised as a top performer in the usage of Virtual Learning Environment or VLE programme in the Sepang district since August 2017 and it is among the top 20 schools in Selangor with the highest total logins.
This year, a total of 24 staff from ERL and E-MAS volunteered for the makeover project. The volunteers were responsible for clearing and cleaning the classroom, wiring, painting, installation of desks and chairs as well as artwork doodling and decorating the Frog Classroom. The FrogClassroom Programme began in 2014 and is slowly becoming more recognizable with its iconic blue Frog door, colourful ergonomic chairs and curved tables. This year, a total of 70 classrooms are expected to receive a Frog ClassroomMakeover.
